| GPS( Global Positioning System) is a Satellite Navigation System. GPS provides specially code satellite signals that can be processed in a GPS receiver, enabling the receiver to compute position, velocity, and time. GPS receiver is used for navigation, positioning, time dissemination and other research. Navigation in three dimensions is the primary function of GPS. Navigation receiver is made for aircraft, ships, ground vehicles and hand carrying by individuals. The GPS Receiver is designed to plug into most any laptop PC's USB port without the need of an additional source for power! Because power and data are both transmitted through a single cable connected to the USB port! The GPS Receiver uses NMEA protocol, which makes it compatible with most of the mapping software available on the market today including the Precision Mapping Traveler v5.0 Inside the GPs receiver, it utilizes the SIRF Star-II chipset, to provide multidirectional, 12-parallel channel support. Satellite tracking can be accomplished with very low signal strength by means of the high sensitivity circuitry design. The GPS Receiver is a combination of a GPS receiver, an embedded GPS antenna with a USB interface, which that makes the GPS a truly unique product. | |||
